The beauty of a solid, consistent workflow is that it provides the structure that customer service is built on. When customer service issues arise, it is vital that the front-line person knows what they can do to solve the issue or who to turn to. There is no substitute for great customer service.
This is one of my favorite analogies for thinking of customers:
“It is easy to see how many seeds are in an apple but harder to see how many apples are in a seed.” Each seed contains an apple tree with many more seeds and apples. Think of your customers as seeds and treat each one with respect for the power they have to change your business. Build a great foundation for customer service through a solid workflow.
